Acai Scam

The foods that are found in nature that are the most vibrant also provide the highest dietetic value for our bodies. There are very few “white” foods that offer much nutrition, cauliflower and jicama are the only extraordinary exceptions. Orange, red, purple, green and even brown foods offer the highest nutritional significance. White flours and white rice are exceedingly void of nutrients.

Years ago, most breads and flour products were made from vastly healthful whole grain flour. This flour is different shades of brown but by no means white. Whole grain flour is made from the entire seed including the fiber-rich outside bran layer and the germ. However, whole grain flour has a propensity to rot faster and also to attract weevils. In an endeavor to preserve baked goods for a longer interval of time, white flour was invented.

So white flour that was made from only the endosperm of the grain seed was created. This flour is as you would expect white but it is also regularly bleached with chemicals in order to make it even whiter. It is very remarkable to note that white flour is also a natural insecticide. It will not attract weevils or any other bug. Insects cannot survive on a diet of white flour because if does not have enough food value.

White flour became very widespread. It made breads and baked products that were very fluffy and airy. However, it did not take too long for the finding to be made that white flour no longer provided any dietary value. White flour was then enriched with 4 vitamins and minerals to return a few of the 15 vitamins and minerals that had been lost. Whole grain flour also provided natural fiber but none of the roughage was added back in.

Regrettably, these days many of the breads and other foods made from flour that we find on our store shelves are made from this nutritionally devoid flour. Many alleged “wheat” breads are really made from enriched flour rather than whole grain flour. In order to get the maximum nutrition we need to make sure that the first thing listed on the label is “whole” meaning that the flour is made from a whole grain whether it is wheat, rye, oatmeal or any other type of grain.

The more processed a food is the less healthy it tends to be. White foods are likely to be deficient in all of the main nutrients. White rice is akin to white flour in its dietary value. Whole grain foods, with all of the natural fiber and nutrients, are the most wholesome and these foods are never white but always hues of brown.

All of the multi-colored foods are imperative when it comes to nourishment. Orange fruits and vegetables contain beta-carotene, purple vegetables and fruits contain anthocyanins and resveratrol and the green fruits and vegetables grant an assortment or other important antioxidants and vital vitamins and minerals. The most multihued diets are the most healthful.

So if you want to make best use of your nutrition, reduce all of the white foods, apart from cauliflower and jicama, of course. Step up your intake of multi-colored vegetables and fruits and take in lean protein sources such as lean meats, fish or poultry or if you are a vegetarian you can incorporate a range of beans and legumes for a protein source. And make sure that your bread is made from whole-grain flour and not enriched flour.
